Hello everyone, I am Gus Besirevic.
I’m from Sacramento, California, and I’m currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno, where I’m majoring in Business and Finance. I chose to go to college not only to gain more knowledge in the world of business, but also to build strong connections that will help shape my future. Being surrounded by driven people and new opportunities motivates me, and I’m excited to grow both personally and professionally during my time at UNR.
Right now, I work as a lift operator at Mt. Rose Ski Resort, which has been an awesome experience—especially since I love being on the mountain. I also work in food catering, which has helped me build strong communication skills, customer-service experience, time-management, and the ability to stay organized during fast-paced events. Through my past job experience, I’ve developed skills in leadership, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, and staying calm under pressure.
When it comes to my future career, I’m interested in paths such as Director of Operations, accounting, and marketing. I enjoy roles that involve planning, strategy, and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. I like the challenge of analyzing situations and finding ways to improve them, and I hope to continue growing in areas that push me to think both creatively and logically.
Outside of school and work, I’m someone who loves staying active and making the most out of life. Snowboarding is one of my biggest passions—it’s something that always clears my mind and keeps me energized. I also love biking, being adventurous, and spending time with my friends and family. Those moments keep me grounded and remind me why I’m working toward my goals in the first place.
Overall, I’m a hardworking and driven person who’s focused on building a successful future, learning as much as I can, and enjoying the journey along the way.
